About Mel Stabin

Mel Stabin is a signature member of the American Watercolor Society, internationally-known teacher, award-winning watercolorist and author of two books: “Watercolor: Simple, Fast, and Focused” and “The Figure In Watercolor: Simple, Fast, and Focused”.

A graduate of Pratt Institute, Mel studied watercolor with Edgar Whitney. For over thirty years Mel was an art director and creative director for major advertising agencies in New York City where he met Wayne Crossland.

Mel is a signature member of prestigious national art societies including the American Watercolor Society, Transparent Watercolor Society of America, North East Watercolor Society, New Jersey Watercolor Society, and Georgia Watercolor Society.

Mel has had seventeen one-man exhibitions of his watercolors. His paintings are in many private and corporate collections. Mel was a director for the American Watercolor Society’s 2005 and 2006 exhibitions and was a Juror of Selection for the American Watercolor Society’s 2006 Annual International Exhibition.

About Wayne Crossland

Wayne Crossland was born and raised in California in a fairly strict and frugal Christian family. He has always been interested in combine non-traditional materials and objects that could become integrated into my work. Concern the gap between art and life can be seen as a statement of his life.

Wayne has graduated with a Master’s degree in Fine Arts at SF Art Institute and a member of the Oil Painters of America. He has studied under artists such as Patricia Jackson and Gary Herrington. Some of Wayne’s paintings stored in private collections all around the world: USA, UK, Belgium, UAE, India, and Japan.

Since 2000 he has been a part of several projects, group and solo exhibitions, street art interventions, and most of the most notorious projects. His work begins as an experiment with the possibilities of collage on a variety of surfaces or backgrounds. Essential to the work is its commanding scale and its relationship to the viewer.

This lets him make exhaustive product reviews and guides to help you choose the right supply for true art.
